The Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu ordered the reconstitution of the palliative distribution committee. According to Jibrin, President Tinubu ordered the reconstitution of the committee because he was not satisfied with the previous distribution of palliatives to the needy in the country. The lawmaker made the disclosure on Sunday in Kano State while flagging off the distribution of the federal government’s palliatives to the needy in the North West geo-political zone.

He emphasized the commitment of the current administration towards easing hardship in the country and called on Nigerians to rally around the President to fix the country, as this is not the time to trade blames. Jibrin said Tinubu is working hard to revamp the economy and bring succour to the people. “The President has done well by distributing palliatives, lamenting that the palliative support was not fairly distributed, that is why the President reconstituted the distribution committee.



“We are here to distribute the palliatives transparently and equitably and we are out to distribute the palliative down to the grassroots level,” the lawmaker said. Earlier, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari , disclosed that the Federal government had sent 90 trucks of foodstuffs and an additional 20 trucks to Kano, noting that it was not properly distributed..
