Local football governing body (FERWAFA) will set aside over Rwf 100 million from its Rwf 15.3 billion annual budget in 2025 to establish its own radio and television. The budget was announced by the FA in an extraordinary general assembly held in Kigali on Saturday, February 15.

According to Adolphe Kalisa, the federation’s Secretary general, the whole idea behind setting up own radio and TV is to enhance football coverage, feeding people with credible information, promoting local talent and also improve communication within Rwandan football and its stakeholders at large. It is a long-term project and I can’t say it will be completed this year nor next year. We are starting this year with mobilizing funds towards that project, FERWAFA Communications manager Olivier Maurice Mutuyimana told Times Sport. Aside the radio and TV project, the federation also plans to use part of the budget to build four new stadiums.

Details about the new infrastructures will be shared in due course, according to officials..
