Caleb Williams is set to begin his football career this weekend and he will show off his fashion sense every time he takes to the field. The former USC Trojans quarterback has been compared to Patrick Mahomes and was the No.1 pick in this year's draft, teeing him up to become the Chicago Bears ' quarterback for the next decade.

He will begin his career in the NFL this Sunday as the Bears face the Tennessee Titans at Soldier Field in Chicago. The 22-year-old has a massive reputation but that hasn't been achieved without some controversy earlier this year. Williams was seen with his nails painted and with a pink iPhone case and wallet while watching the USC women's basketball team take on the Kansas Jayhawks in the NCAA Tournament .

Some speculated that he was also wearing lipstick and it led to a mixed reaction from fans online, with some negative and some supportive messages. Williams, though, has long painted his nails and it became something of a tradition on game days back in college. Now he's set to be one of the biggest stars in the NFL this season and plenty of eyes will be on him every week.

And that is likely to lead to fans noticing that Williams will still be painting his nails throughout the NFL season...

Williams paints his nails to represent his mother, who worked as a nail technician for his entire life. He has also said that he enjoys being a fashion trendsetter. "It started, I would say, three years ago," Williams said in 2023.

"It was my last year of high school. My mom does nails. Let's just start it off there.

She's done it my whole life. It's just kind of always been around me. "Nobody else does it.

I just kinda like to do new things." And now he has confirmed that his painted nails won't be going anywhere during his first NFL season. Williams told 'Pardon My Take' last month: "I'm going to do it again this year.

"I haven't done it for practice, I try to do for games -- regular season and playoffs -- I've been doing it so long now." He continued: "I'm trying to keep good-spirited things on my nails. "It does fire me up but I can use other things to fire me up too.

" The new NFL star also fired back at critics who have mocked him for crying after losing over the years. "When we win the Super Bowl , at some point, I'm hoping we have multiple people out there crying tears of joy," he said. "So when I lose, I know how important it is.

I'm trying to win every game. "Tear drops, there's a time and a place, but if a tear does drop it's how much I care for winning and losing." Whether some fans like it or not, Williams will be the face of the Bears franchise for the foreseeable, and he represents a new generation of players we're likely to see a lot more of in the future.

Matt Miller, an NFL Draft analyst for ESPN, recently said that he has no problem with Williams showing emotion and expressing himself . "I just talked to an NFL general manager last week about Caleb and he was like, 'Love him,' " Miller exclusively told talkSPORT. "The cool thing is that his teammates love him.

"He is this modern quarterback who's not afraid to (show emotion). "It's not like he's slamming his helmet down on the sideline in frustration. He's emotional.

".
