“And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, saying, let us alone. What have we to do with you, you Jesus of Nazareth? Are you come to destroy us? I know you, who you are, the Holy one of God,” Mark 1:23-24. “And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread.

And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thitherto eat bread. And she said unto her husband, behold now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, which passeth by us continually. Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither,” 2 Kings 4:8-9.

No man is invincible; people know us either by our art and act. They know us either by our work or words; our contributions in life define us, our communication introduces us and our behaviour recommend us. Many a time, it is our character that sustains our opportunity.

Every day comes with its’ opportunities and challenges, which are sustained by who we are and what we do with it. The above two scriptures expose us to the fact that all men are known: the demons and men knew Jesus that he was a Holy One of God; the anointed one. His position as the Holy One of God is valid through His redemptive work of saving man.

Whatsoever it is that man is going through; whatsoever situation man finds himself Jesus, the Holy One of God is able to save and deliver. The widow in seeing the prophet Elisha perceived that he was a holy man of God. When people meet you what do they perceive; in their constant interaction with you what impression do you make and what message do you pass.

God searches the heart and mind, but man judges by what he sees, hears and feels. These men are also agents God passes to bless, raise, uplift and keep us; who they perceive us to be determines what they will give us, based on the values they place on us. We must be intentional in our relationship and dealings with others.

Most people have come across the word knowledge; there are several kinds of knowledge.Sometimes people lay claim on some kind of knowledge: people, land, food, culture, traditions, disciplines, religion, spirituality, faith, solutions, travels and more. Regretfully, most of these knowledge are based on: assumption, hear-say, hasty conclusion, and suspicion; rarely,do they draw their conclusion based on experience and interaction.

Furthermore, the text we earlier read revealed that the unclean spirit knew Jesus as Holy One of God; and the widow perceived Elisha as a Holy man of God; people and spirit know you. Every child of God is known either as true or false through the message they disseminate. These messages are spread through our immediate environment to lands unknown.

Our disposition can open or close doors for us. How Did They Know Jesus (Mark 1:21-end) • The people knew him as one having authority vs 21-22. • The unclean spirit knew Him as the Holy One of God — the Christ vs 24.

• The people knew him as one that unclean spirits obey vs 25-27. • He was one that did not want to see anyone suffer in body, mind or spirit vs 30-32. • He was a healer of sicknesses vs 34.

• He was a man who would always retire to a solitary place to pray vs 35. • He was a solution, therefore, all men sort for him vs 37. • He knew why he came vs 38.

• He was compassionate vs 41. • He respected the values, and traditions of the people, which was not injurious to faith vs 44. The Bible is rich in the knowledge of people; and gives us very important guide on dealing with and receiving people.

John 7:24: “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” Matthew 7:1-5: “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.” Romans 2:1-3: “Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?” James 4:11-12: “Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?” What Christians Ought To Know About Themselves (Matthew 5: 13, 14, 16) “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

” “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.” “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

” • This means that the world could become tasteless as it seems today, but the Christians are to restore and give it good taste. • They are to bring out the sweetness of God’s creation; they are to make others still believe that all is not lost. • Venerable Dr.

• Take a decision today to change on your negative perspective of peple. • Be intentional in dealing honestly with people. • Stop judging people based on assumption.

Give people enough chance to know others. • Be a positive influence in your environment. Let people be blessed through your positive impression.

It is a call for positive and intentional resolution towards living an impactful life among others and in our immediate environment.Let us pray. • Venerable Dr.
