In one of the marquee matchups of the College Football Playoff quarterfinals, a perennial powerhouse in the Georgia Bulldogs will square off with one of college football's blue bloods, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, in the Sugar Bowl. Notre Dame is coming off a rather convincing victory over the Indiana Hoosiers in college football's first-ever home playoff game. A revamped Indiana program shouldn't be looked down upon, but the Bulldogs certainly pose a different challenge for the Irish.
Speaking of the Bulldogs, they should be well-rested as they were awarded a 1st-round bye and have not played since the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 7. While they may have had some extra time to prepare, Georgia will have to overcome some adversity to move on to the semifinals as they'll be without starting quarterback Carson Beck.
