Released in April 2025, A Minecraft Movie based on Mojang Studios’ popular sandbox video game of the same name follows four misfits who arrive at Overworld. In this block world, they encounter all sorts of imaginary creatures. Finding themselves on a fun adventure, the four are joined by Steve, a master crafter.

In the scene, Steve returns to the human world from Overworld after saving the latter from the evil Piglin sorceress and leader, Malgosha, returning to the place he used to call home. When he knocks on the door, he is greeted by a ginger-haired woman to whom he explains his identity.Steve is then invited by the woman inside, but not before she introduces herself as Alex.

However, Alex’s face is not seen in the scene, as she is only shown from behind.Alex’s introduction teases a possible major role for the character in a potential sequel. However, as of this writing, there is no official word on whether a sequel will happen.

Although a sequel hasn’t been confirmed, some of the cast members, Emma Myers and Sebastian Hansen, have expressed interest. Speaking to Yahoo UK, Myers expressed interest in doing “Minecraft 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6,” saying she “would love to do” multiple films if the filmmakers wished. Myers also stated her wish for her character to “meet some new people and some new mobs.
