Kraven the Hunter’s Miles Warren and The Jackal’s Marvel origin explained In Kraven the Hunter, Miles Warren is a mysterious doctor based in New York. He never actually appears in the film but is mentioned by Aleksei Systevich and Dmitri Smerdyakov. Both Aleksei and Dmitri mention Warren as the reason behind their respective powers and identities as The and The Chameleon.



However, Miles Warren aka The Jackal has a significant role in Marvel Comics, typically in Spider-Man stories. He has nothing to do with the origins of Rhino and Chameleon. In the comics, Warren is a biochemistry professor at Empire State University, attended by Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy.

He also learned about genetics from the . In his time affiliated with the High Evolutionary, Warren contributed to creating a creature called Man-Jackal. Unfortunately, the creature managed to escape and seemingly killed Warren’s family, the trauma of which drove Warren insane.

Warren was eventually asked to leave the High Evolutionary because of his strong influence over the New Men and his cloning experiments. Miles Warren and Spider-Man’s conflict began when he developed feelings for Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker’s girlfriend. Following this, Warren created various clones of both Stacy and Peter Parker, including Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider, in his revenge campaign against the wallcrawler. This eventually drove him insane and he developed a secret identity of The Jackal. He also tried to hire or manipulate other villains/anti-heroes like Scorpion, Tarantula, and The Punisher into killing Spider-Man, only to ultimately fail.
