Who Is Kai-Ji Adam Lo? Suspect In Vancouver's Lapu Lapu Festival Tragedy Identified

The Vancouver Police identified Kai-Ji Adam Lo as the suspect in the Lapu Lapu Festival crash that killed 11 people. Lo, who has a history of mental illness, was charged with eight counts of second-degree murder. He is a Vancouver resident who lost his brother, Alexander Lo, in January 2024.

Vancouver Police Department identified the suspect in the deadly car crash incident at the city's Filipino community's Lapu Lapu Festival as 30-year-old Kai-Ji Adam Lo. Kai-Ji Adam Lo allegedly plowed a vehicle through a crowd at the festival in Southeast Vancouver, leading to the death of 11 people. The police had earlier said that the suspect was known to them and has had a history of mental illness.

However, the identity of the suspect had been withheld till charges were pressed against the suspect. Later, the Vancouver Police Department issued a statement confirming that the suspect had been charged with eight counts of second-degree murder. Kai-Ji Adam Lo is a Vancouver resident and lost his brother, Alexander Lo, in January 2024.



"The BC Prosecution Service has now charged Kai-Ji Adam Lo, 30, with eight counts of second-degree murder," Vancouver Police Department said in the statement. "Lo, a Vancouver resident, has appeared in court and remains in custody. The charge assessment is ongoing and further charges are anticipated.
