Jayden Daniels is off to a strong start in his career, as the Commanders quarterback is likely the favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year this season. However, Daniels is not the only member of his family to have made inroads in the NFL this year. Daniels' mother, Regina Jackson, is a certified NFL agent after earning the title earlier in the year.
However, Jackson was not a certified agent when Daniels first entered the league, which meant that she couldn't represent him throughout the draft process. The Sporting News explains Jackson's path to becoming an agent and how it impacts Daniels' own representation. NFL HQ: Live NFL scores | Updated NFL standings | Full NFL schedule Why Jayden Daniels' mom, Regina Jackson, become an NFL agent Regina Jackson became a certified NFL agent earlier this season, passing the necessary test in late July, CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones reports.
According to Jones, Jackson has been working toward becoming an NFL agent for the past few years, dating back to when Daniels was still in college. Jackson has an MBA in concentration entrepreneurship and a masters in public services administration, which is important because every NFL agent needs both an undergraduate degree and a postgraduate degree. Additionally, Jackson needed to pass a background check, go through a multi-day virtual seminar, and pay a non-refundable fee before even getting to take the exam.
Denise White, a PR specialist who worked with both Daniels and Jackson, told Jones why Jackson went through with the process. "For her, taking the agent's test is because she wants to be knowledgeable and helping her son and guiding him through his NFL career," White said. "It's important for her to have all that knowledge so she can give her son guidance, which will help him focus on the field and she can help focus off the field for him.
" Jackson is not the first parent of an NFL player to become a certified agent, joining, most notably, Odell Beckham Jr.'s mother, Heather Van Norman, among others. Yet, not all of those agents represent their children, and that is the case with Jackson and Daniels.

While Daniels' mother is a certified agent, she doesn't represent the Commanders quarterback. Instead, Daniels is represented by Ira Turner, Ron Butler, Aston Wilson, and Stanley Bien-Aime, all of whom work for Agency 1 Sports.
