The much-anticipated Marvel series Agatha All Along is finally set to hit screens this week after a series of delays, but where does it fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline? Kathryn Hahn will reprise her role as Agatha Harkness, who last seen being defeated by Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olson) in the MCU series WandaVision. Previously tormenting Wanda within The Hex/Westview, Agatha now finds herself trapped in a new world and freed by a mysterious goth Teen played by Joe Locke. He asks her to help him journey down the Witches' Road - a path that rewards a witch with what they lack if they can survive its array of challenges.

A coven comes together for the journey as Agatha confronts her own inner demons. Joining Kathryn Hahn on screen, Aubrey Plaza will make her MCU debut as Rio Vidal, a warrior witch in Harkness and Calderu's coven. The star-studded cast also includes Heartstopper's Joe Locke, SNL's Sasheer Zamata, Orange is the New Black's Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, Debra Jo Rupp and Patti LuPone.

Agatha All Along is slated to premiere its first two episodes on Disney+ on September 18, 2024, with subsequent episodes dropping weekly. Set three years on from the events of WandaVision, the series kicks off with Agatha trapped in the faux reality of Westview, created by Wanda.

The imitation reality bears a striking resemblance to HBO's Mare of Easttown, featuring Kathryn Hahn as a police detective investigating a body found in the woods. Following the happenings of WandaVision, Wanda tried to retrieve her children from Wandavision, Billy and Tommy, using dark magic in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Doctor Strange employs his own dark magic to halt her, resulting in what appears to be her self-sacrifice to terminate the Darkhold.

It's likely this act weakens the spell on Agatha, leading to her escape from Westview. Agatha forms a coven and embarks on a series of perilous trials to regain her power. Agatha All Along is also set during Phase 5 of the MCU timeline.
