Liam Payne's funeral is reportedly set to take place today, Wednesday, November 20, after the One Direction star fell to his death from a hotel balcony last month. The 31-year-old was from Wolverhampton but it was thought the service will take place in the Home Counties. These are the areas surrounding London and include: Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent and Surrey.

The service is for close friends and family only and Liam's former bandmates - Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan - are thought to be attending. Simon Cowell will also appear at the funeral, it has been reported. Dad-of-one Liam died in Argentina on October 16.

His dad, Geoff, travelled to the South American country to bring his body back to the UK. POLL: Do you agree with the DWP taking money from bank accounts or wages? A source said: "Geoff is living every parent’s worst nightmare. He has been so moved by the outpouring of love and the tributes that have come in from across the world.

" His family previously said: "We are heartbroken. "Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul." Styles said in a tribute to Liam: "His greatest joy was making other people happy and it was an honour to be alongside him as he did it.

Liam lived wide open, with his heart on his sleeve, he had an energy for life that was infectious. "He was warm, supportive and incredibly loving. The years we spent together will forever remain among the most cherished years of my life.

I will miss him always, my lovely friend. "My heart breaks for Karen, Geoff, Nicola and Ruth, his son Bear, and all those around the world who knew him and loved him, as I did."
