It has been nearly 30 years since 6-year-old Jonbenet Ramsey was found dead in the basement of her family’s Colorado home on Christmas , and now, a new Netflix documentary is hoping to finally blow the case wide open and potentially absolve her family members of any suspicion that is still cast upon them in regards to her death. Ramsey was found strangled and suffered a blow to her head in the grisly crime, and the young girl’s pageant history as well as other intel from the scene quickly made the case a sensation–one that made the family’s former home a landmark , and also sees her life and death discussed and made into a spectacle today. For several years, her parents, Patsy and John, and her brother, Burke, then 9, were considered prime suspects in her murder.
JonBenet Ramsey's dad says new evidence can help solve daughter's murder Inside Burke Ramsey's life today after the infamous murder of sister JonBenet Since then, while most suspicion of them has fallen away, the fact that the case remains unsolved has seen them not fully cleared. However, a new Netflix docuseries may be able to change that. Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenet Ramsey was directed by Joe Berlinger, whose Paradise Lost film helped free the West Memphis Three, and in an interview with The Independent, he admitted his initial suspicions have since fallen to the side, and he hopes the film will help absolve them and finally solve the case.
“With the advances in DNA technology, I think this case can actually be solved,” he said. “And so I will be honest and say one of my goals of this show is to pressure Boulder police to finally do the right thing..
.the Ramsey family has been pounding the table for several years for additional DNA testing.” “I can’t imagine a more brutalized family than the Ramsey family,” he added.
“John Ramsey–who I think deserves a Purple Heart [or] five Purple Hearts–he lost his daughter, Beth, from a previous marriage. As a parent, I can’t think of anything more painful.” “JonBenet was the magic elixir that was going to help that family recover, and she’s brutally murdered in the most horrific way imaginable–and then they’re blamed for it,” he continued.
“The mother, Patsy, is dealing with Ovarian cancer, and no doubt the stress of that murder and being blamed for it, I’m sure, contributed to it coming back.” Don't miss: Dance Moms star slammed over dance inspired by murdered girl JonBenet Ramsey [LATEST] JonBenet Ramsey's father urges federal law to combat child murders [INSIGHT] JonBenet Ramsey's dad says he's got 'hope' that murder will finally be solved [UPDATE] Since the murder, Patsy died from cancer in 2006.
