Agatha Harkness is on a journey to reclaim her powers in Marvel Studios’ newest spinoff TV series. Kathryn Hahn reprises her role in , which premieres today on .
When we last saw Agatha in , she lost her magical powers to the Scarlet Witch (aka Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen). In the new show, a (Joe Locke) breaks Agatha free from a distorted spell and begs her to take him on the Witches’ Road, “a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven and set off,” per the logline.
Broadway star Patti LuPone, Emmy-nominated actress Aubrey Plaza, Sasheer Zamata, Debra Jo Rupp and Alice Wu-Gulliver round out the cast of witches, each with their own reasons for joining the treacherous expedition. The stars even gave a sneak peek at the D23 expo in August when “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road.” creator Jac Schaeffer says she to avoid fueling fan theories and sending viewers down the wrong path.
