He admitted that he preferred to keep Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor 's public appearances to a minimum, worried that their visibility together might affect the film’s reception. I didn’t want anybody to see them until my film had not come out.” The director revealed that he actively discouraged Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor from making public appearances, saying, “So, lots of things haven’t happened in their lives because every time they would go out together, I would be sitting at the back saying, 'You all are ruining my film.
