Union Home Minister and BJP’s key poll strategist Amit Shah on Friday strongly indicated that outgoing Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai may soon take on a role in the party’s national leadership structure. Shah also praised Annamalai for his role in strengthening the BJP’s grassroots presence in Tamil Nadu during his time as the state president.
“As the President of the Tamil Nadu BJP unit, Shri K Annamalai Ji has made commendable accomplishments. Whether it is carrying the policies of PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji to people or the programs of the party from village to village, Annamalai Ji’s contribution has been unprecedented," Shah wrote in an X post. Amit Shah added that the BJP would make use of Annamalai’s organisational abilities at the national level, indicating his potential inclusion in the party’s central leadership.
The Union Home Minister also confirmed that Nainar Nagendran, the MLA from Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu, was the only one to file his nomination for Tamil Nadu’s BJP President role..
