Anant Ambani’s gift for Lalbaugcha Raja’s Ganesh This year’s highlight, Lalbaugcha Raja’s deity received a breathtaking gold crown worth Rs 15 crore from Anant Ambani and the Reliance Foundation. On the first day of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations (September 5), the organisers revealed the magnificent gold crown sitting on top of Lord Ganesh’s head. As per reports, the gigantic crown weighed 20 kilograms and took two months to make.

This is not the first time Anant Ambanu has been involved in the Lalbaugcha Raja’s celebrations. For 15 years, Anant Ambani has been an active participant during the 11-day festive period. For those unaware, only recently, Anat Ambani was announced to become the executive advisor to the Lalbaugcha Raja committee.

Well, as the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations die down, on September 17, devotees took a grand procession of the idol to the streets of Mumbai. At night, the crowd made its way to Girgaon Chowpatty beach to bid goodbye to Lord Ganesh.

With loud music and dancing all night, on September 18, the massive Lalbaugcha Raja’s crown was dismantled piece by piece. In a video shared by Varinder Chawla on Instagram, it can be seen that the helpers carefully took the crown apart and passed it to safety. A post shared by Varinder Chawla (@varindertchawla) While the current whereabouts of the crown are unknown, it is safe to assume that this valuable gift went straight to the Lalbaugcha Raja committee for upkeeping of functions till the next Ganesh Chaturthi arrives the coming year.
