WETHERSPOONS has pulled another item from menus in a second shortage of breakfast items.Fans were left reeling this week when eggs appeared to be missing from the chain’s iconic breakfasts – as they were in short supply due to bird flu.JD WetherspoonTwo items are missing from the iconic Wetherspoons full English[/caption]Not known, clear with picture deskA notice informed customers that eggs and hashbrowns were both in short supply[/caption]Social mediaPunters shared snaps of piled-up hashbrowns following the egg shortage[/caption]The pub group then decided to replace the missing eggs with extra hashbrowns.

But now the 852-outlet giant is running low on those as well after people began sharing snaps of then hash brown heavy plates of grub.A sign in one watering hole revealed: “Because of a short-term supply issue with our usual hash browns, we are sourcing a temporary substitute which the manufacturer has stated may contain milk.“These are not suitable, therefore, for a vegan based diet or anyone with a milk allergy intolerance.

“We expect to return to our usual hash browns as soon as possible. For full allergen and nutritional information, please refer to the customer information screen.”On the original egg crisis, one person said on a social media page dedicated to the chain: “What a clucking liberty.

”Another person in Somerset said they had to do without eggs on their breakfast as well.Yet another added: “None in Brighton yesterday.”And Andy said: “First a Guinness shortage and now no eggs.

What’s happening to the world?”A spokesman for the chain said: “We source some of our free range eggs from suppliers and farms based in Northern Ireland. “The recent outbreak of Avian flu has put pressure on availability with measures put in place by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) to restrict the spread. “We are working with all of our egg suppliers to reduce disruption in pubs.

”The Sun has reached out to Wetherspoons for further comment on the hashbrown shortage. It comes after stout-lovers were hit with a Guinness shortage in the run-up to Christmas.Pubs up and down the country were forced to ration supplies of the famed “black stuff” – with one even handing out stamp cards to keep track of consumption.

The company blamed the issue on “unprecedented demand”.A spokesperson explained: “We are grateful to all our customers for their engagement, collaboration, and patience over the past three weeks.“We are producing more Guinness today than we ever have in our 265-year history, and we continue to work closely with customers across our network to manage Guinness distribution as efficiently as possible, ensuring we maximise supply and minimise disruptions for pubs, retailers, and consumers.

“Demand remains at unprecedented levels, and we will continue to allocate supplies on a managed basis until the end of December, before beginning a phased replenishment of the supply chain in January to ensure a return to normal in Great Britain for the Guinness Six Nations.”How can I save money at Wetherspoons?FREE refills - Buy a £1.50 tea, coffee or hot chocolate and you can get free refills.
