This weekend brings plenty of spring swings in weather. Saturday starts with light rain continuing through the region, slowly sliding to the northeast. As the low makes its way through Minnesota, winds pick up to 15-25 mph out of the northwest by the afternoon.
Saturday evening will see the showers weaken, but also a transition into a few flurries going to the overnight hours, especially in north-central Minnesota. Accumulations for northern Minnesota will remain minimal, with the main chance to get over an inch toward Lake of the Woods by Bemidji. ADVERTISEMENT Northern Wisconsin will likely remain entirely as weak rain showers slowly move out over Lake Superior into the night.
Sunday will be a drier day, however, it will be cooler. On the backside of the system moving through, lows drop to the teens by Saturday morning. Through the day, we will look to see plenty of sunshine, but northwest winds will keep highs around freezing for much of the region.
Heading toward next week, we see temperatures look to mellow out a little, with a swift return to 40s for the first few days..
