Wet weather incoming: 2 rounds of rain, snow to hit Arizona this week

For the first system, widespread rain across the Valley is expected, mainly after dark Tuesday night during the overnight hours into early Wednesday morning.

PHOENIX — Don't put away those umbrellas just yet, Arizona. An active storm track will send two rounds of wet weather into the Valley this week. The first Pacific weather system will arrive in the state Tuesday night.

Widespread rain across the Valley is expected, mainly after dark Tuesday night during the overnight hours into early Wednesday morning. With this fast-moving, mild system, the snow level will hover around 6,000 feet, producing just minor accumulations for Flagstaff, with several inches possible across the Eastern Mogollon Rim into the White Mountains. A winter weather advisory is in effect for that area, where 2-6" of snow is possible for places like Forest Lakes, Heber, Greer & Pinetop.



After a brief break late Wednesday, a stronger storm system will dive into the area on Thursday. Thursday is a Weather Impact Alert Day On Thursday, expect more wet, windy weather in the Valley. Wind, rain and even some thunder are all possible in the Valley on Thursday.

For the High Country, snow levels will drop to as low as 4,000'. The initial estimates of snow for Flagstaff will be in the 3-7" range, with higher amounts at Arizona Snowbowl. This system is still several days out, so keep checking back for the latest developments.
