A car crash on Route 116 in Granby caused “extensive damage” and closed a portion of the roadway Tuesday evening, according to firefighters. The Granby Fire Department alerted the public to the crash via Facebook shortly before 4:40 p.m.
The crash caused multiple power lines to fall down onto the road, firefighters said. Officials said the crash involved a car hitting a tree, Western Mass News reported . Route 116 will be closed between the intersection with Amherst Street and the border of Amherst “for an extended period of time," firefighters said.
