The owners of The Lifeboat Inn are "over the moon" celebrating their big win at this year's Good Food Ireland awards. The renowned Courtmacsherry bar was named Pub of the Year at a prestigious awards ceremony this week. It's a well deserved win for owners Martin Buckley and David O’Halloran, who have turned the seaside bar into one of West Cork's finest and creating a foodie haven right on Courtmac's pictureque waterfront.

They opened the popular gastropub in 2017 and it has been thriving ever since - with business only growing thanks to their hugely popular 'lads from the Lifeboat’ social media pages. Martin in particular has become a well known face on TikTok and Instagram feeds as he shares his top tips from the kitchen. The couple thanked all their staff, customers and suppliers this week after receiving such a prestigious title.

The posted to their social media: "We are delighted to have won pub of the year at last nights Good Food Ireland awards. This award was decided by the Good Food Ireland judges and we are over the moon with this recognition." They added that their support network of local suppliers, dedicated staff and loyal customers have played "a vital part in making The Lifeboat Inn what it is.

" It's another bit of silverware to add to the mantle for the highly-decorated pub. Just last year they won the Food Lovers Choice Award with Good Food Ireland and in 2021, the lads displayed their plaque for the McKenna Guides Best In Ireland..
