vietnam50th.org.) The Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans ceremony on March 29, 2024, included a march around the state Capitol and observance in the rotunda.
This program, which honors Vietnam veterans who served from 1955-1975, will be a combination of a Veterans Honor Walk around the Capital complex, starting promptly at 10 a.m. on the corner of 6th Avenue and Roberts Street (Montana Heritage Center), followed by a ceremony at the Freedom Tree where the Vietnam POW-MIA plaque, dedicated in 2015, is located.
The formal ceremony will be 11 a.m. in the Capitol Rotunda, 1301 E.
6th Ave. Sgt. Maj.
Mike Russell, retired, a Vietnam veteran, will be the main speaker. Early arrival recommended due to the challenge of parking around the Capitol with the Montana Legislature being in session Saturday. The public may attend.
