Weather warning issued for Suffolk with gusts of up to 52mph expected

Strong winds are likely to cause longer journey times and possible power cuts in Suffolk as the Met Office issues a weather warning.

A yellow weather warning for wind has been issued for parts of Suffolk with gusts of up to 52mph forecast along the coast. The Met Office warning will be in place from 6am on Monday until 6am on Tuesday and covers most of the county. Strong winds and gusts are expected as the forecaster warns of travel disruption with delays on road, rail, air and ferry services possible.

Gusts of up to 52mph are expected in Southwold and Aldeburgh on Monday, with gusts of up to 42mph expected further inland in Ipswich.



A spokesman for the Met Office said: " A period of strong and gusty southwesterly winds is likely to affect southern parts of England and Wales through Monday and at first on Tuesday. "Gusts to 60 or 70 mph are possible near the coast, with gusts of 50mph possible inland. Winds will gradually ease from the west on Tuesday morning.
