BUFFALO, N.Y. — Freezing rain is projected near Lake Ontario today.
WNYers in eastern Niagara and Orleans County should take extra caution on roadways and driveways this afternoon and tonight. NWS-Buffalo has included Niagara, Orleans & Genesee Counties in a winter weather advisory for later Saturday. Rochester will also have a chance for freezing rain Saturday afternoon and evening.
The NWS-Buffalo office sent the following reminder: Be prepared for slippery roads. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
