The Finals Season 4 is nearly here, and Embark has confirmed a lot of exciting details following the unveiling of their teaser trailer. We’ve got a new map, an assortment of new weapons, a new gameplay feature involving sponsors, and the ability to add facial hair to your character. While the addition of facial hair is neat, Embark has recently discussed other customization options sorely wanted by The Finals community .
Embark has confirmed the release date for Season 4 is September 26th, so we only have to wait slightly longer than one more week. You can try to sign up to play Season 4 early , but recently lots of details were shared following the teaser trailer. Embark has confirmed a controversial feature is not returning despite appearing in the trailer, meanwhile, online sleuths have possibly identified all of the new weapons before Embark’s official guide.
While Embark is adding facial hair as a new customization option, there are other aspects of our characters players would love to be able to tweak. It’s not guaranteed we will ever get these options, but The Finals developer has acknowledged they want the same. The Finals dev responds to wanted customization options On The Finals Discord, Embark Rob actively engages with the community.
While he is notorious for leaking content, he is also known to discuss possible features for the future. Recently the developer was asked if it would be possible to customize facial hair. To this, Rob responded, “Every hairstyle, and facial hair are built manually, it’s actually pretty complex and take the artists several days produce.
To allow full customization would require a couple of seasons to make it possible, but you never know...
I mean yes we would love it too...

In addition to requests to customize facial hair, Rob was asked if there will be a new body type soon seeing as there is currently only two. Rob responded, “gahh, this requires even more work, since more or less every character assets need to be retop (scaled and adjusted to the new body type)..
. BUT trust me we want it too, but I don’t know when we will get it in yet..
.”. To this one user suggested, “Perhaps some full body skin without customisation? You can give new body type without worrying of older skin messing everything”.
Rob responded, “We REALLY want all the players to use things as ‘free’ as possible, we have talked about that too, but we really LOVE to allow our players to mix and match and make amazing and cool characters.!”. Unfortunately, it’s pretty clear none of these fan requests will be happening soon because of the reasons given by Rob.
Hopefully they will happen one day similar to the incoming introduction of facial hair, but for the time being they’re a no-go.
