We spent two hours at Nunny's Farm and couldn't believe such a lovely attraction is right on our doorstep

We must've been to almost every farm and visitor attraction in Lincolnshire as a family at this point - so the fact we hadn't even been to Nunny's Farm in our hometown of good old Grimsby as of yet was a bit concerning. But on a sunny Saturday lunchtime recently, with a couple of hours to kill, we decided to visit the popular visitor attraction in the heart of Nunsthorpe - one that I've written so much about but haven't had the pleasure of going myself. And after spending just a couple of hours there with my partner and daughter, I'm already planning to take my little girl again.

We absolutely loved it, and although I already knew how popular and loved the farm is, it was fantastic to see it for myself - we're so lucky to have such a fab attraction right on our doorstep. After parking up in the spacious car park at the back of Centre4, we made our way to the reception desk, where we paid £16 for two adults, one child and two bags of animal feed - which isn't too bad at all price-wise, in my opinion. As soon as we walked through the gate, I couldn't believe how big and sprawling the farm itself actually is and how much space there is for animals to roam and visitors to wander around.

The first thing we did was go and visit the pigs, aka Penelope Pigg and Petunia Lashes (the OG farm animals) and Brick. The farm is very spacious (Image: Grimsby Live) Unfortunately (my fault completely) we didn't see the sign at first that warned the piggies do bite - my little girl had a bit of a shock when she fed them straight from her hand! Oops. But at least we know for the future now.

The next animals we visited were the beautiful alpacas, Jack, Jimmy and Johnny. I absolutely adore alpacas, and so does Minnie, so we were very pleased that we could feed them from our hands. The same went for some of the donkeys and all horses, sheep and goats - and it was such a lovely experience, especially for a little girl who loves her animals.

We were so generous with feeding the animals that my partner had to make his way back to reception to get us another bag of feed! I always find goats absolutely hilarious and so endearing - their facial expressions and mannerisms are just priceless. They do get very greedy though, I must say - there was plenty of head-butting involved when it came to getting their turn to be fed. Nunny's Farm provides the perfect opportunity to get up close to many animals, including goats, donkeys, sheep, cows and alpacas (Image: Grimsby Live) There were so many more sheep at the farm than I realised, and we loved being able to find them all by using their individual pictures and names.

There was even one with the same name as my daughter, Minnie - which she loved - albeit with a different spelling. As soon as they saw us feeding one or two they all bundled over to the edge of the fence and waited their turn, which was lovely. Also present at Nunny's Farm are rabbits - one of which visitors could stroke - and guinea pigs, ducks, geese, turkeys, and a lovely Highland cow named Hamish, who was definitely the sloppiest of the lot when eating food out of my hand.

Luckily there's plenty of hand sanitizer dotted around the farm! Hamish the Highland Cow (Image: Grimsby Live) After we'd visited all the animals, we had a go in the mini maze, a sit down in the play area and a look around the little shop. I did notice there was even a plant-based café on-site which looked lovely. We will definitely stop off for something to eat there on our next visit.

I would highly recommend a visit to Nunny's Farm for anyone local, whether as a family, with friends, as a couple or even solo. It's such a feel-good experience to wander around and meet all the animals, and I love the way there's little boards dotted around with the name of each animal and their back story. Plus, it's so much bigger than I thought, so you can quite easily spend a couple of hours or even more here.

We really are so lucky to have an attraction like this right on our doorstep, and it deserves all the support it can get..
