Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has spoken for the first time about growing speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League. The London-born former Charlton Athletic and Everton player has rebuilt his career in Italy with string of impressive appearances in both Serie A and the Champions League, helping him onto the shortlist as a Ballon d'Or nominee. Atalanta are currently leading Serie A, helped by Lookman's contribution of 10 goals and five assists so far this season in all competitions.
The 27-year-old old from Wandsworth is a different player five years on from leaving England, initially for RB Leipzig, with his form attracting a number of clubs in England. Arsenal have been linked with the Nigerian international given their need for a forward, but so have Newcastle United , with reports the Mags have scouted the player on a number of occasions. Now, for the first time since the transfer speculation intensified, Lookman has spoken about reports of him being wanted in England.
Lookman told Sporty TV : "Obviously the player that I was then is definitely the completely different player than I am today. And as a person, I have grown up and I've matured a lot, and I have been able to achieve a lot in my time here. "That's also because I've been able to create a process in terms of my work and how I think and all different aspects of my life and areas that I could improve on and do which I have done.
It's all becoming who I am today so I'm pleased with that and wherever the future takes you, we shall see.".
