Dartford assistant boss Roland Edge insists his title-chasing side will be taking it one game at a time. The Darts took another big step towards promotion by beating Dover 3-1 at Princes Park on Good Friday. It leaves Dartford two points clear of both Billericay and Horsham in Isthmian Premier – with just two games remaining.

Dartford travel to Cray Wanderers on Monday and then host Carshalton next weekend. “We try and stick to one game at a time,” insisted Edge. “You don't want to overload it and you don't want to be disrespectful.

“We knew it was going to be tough. We had our whole focus on Dover. “Ady (Pennock, manager) had a game plan, what we needed to do.

We executed it and then we're going to go to Cray. “We know we've got two tough games, but if you roll your sleeves up and give your all, you can't do any more than that. “If we can do that, who knows what will happen.

” On the challenge of facing Cray at their new Flamingo Park ground, Edge added: “Cray are a good side. We're not baffled by it, we know what's coming our way. “If we're not at it, we're going to pay the price for that.

They want every point they can get, same as us. We need to go there fresh in the mind and willing to fight for every point that's there.” Edge was pleased with the different types of goals Dartford scored against Dover.

There were moments of individual brilliance by Samir Carruthers and Olly Box, the latter setting up skipper Josh Hill to score the third, while Denzelle Olopade’s close-range finish came from a long throw-in. “It's funny because you've got that brilliant free-kick, but you equally love the tap-in because that's what you work on all the time, just attacking areas,” reflected Edge. “Denzelle’s gone from strength to strength this year and it was just lovely to see him pop up and poke it home.

“I can't say enough about Denzelle. He's been fantastic and he's brought that strength in there. “Samir’s obviously got class and Hayden Bullas was just everywhere.

If you win the midfield fight, and I thought we did, you stand a great chance of winning the game.” The victory also meant Dartford exacted a measure of revenge on Dover, who beat them 5-1 at Crabble in early September. “I think they've done really well. “They're young like us, they've got real quality out there and we knew it'd be a tough task, so to win it 3-1 wasn't easy. “The scoreline doesn't show that, but I'll be honest, their 5-1 didn't show that in the opening game of the season.

“It's a little bit of revenge. You don't want to ever lose all six points to a team.”.
