Watchman and accomplice steal Rs32L in cash and jewellery from trader's home in Pune

Pune: The Marketyard police are on the lookout for a Nepali watchman and his accomplice, who allegedly fled after stealing cash and jewellery worth Rs 32 lakh from his employer's bungalow near Marketyard. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, while the 39-year-old trader and his family were out of town. The theft came to light when the family returned and discovered the valuables missing.

A complaint was lodged with the Marketyard police on Monday. An officer from the Marketyard police told TOI, "The complainant appointed a man from Nepal as a watchman at his bungalow. On Sunday, when the complainant and his family members went outstation, the watchman, along with his accomplice, stole Rs 17.



15 lakh, gold, silver, and diamond jewellery collectively worth Rs 32 lakh from the bungalow and fled." Police have launched a search operation and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to trace the suspects..
