The movie, which will be released in the coming year, is based on the successful animated films exploring the adventures of Hiccup and Toothless, a young Viking and his dragon. The film is being adapted by the same team behind the animated films, and a cast rounded out by Mason Thames, Nico Parker , and Gerard Butler .

The teaser features Hiccup, a young Viking who doesn't feel comfortable slaying a dragon, a necessary part of his Viking training. While out on a mission to slay a dragon, Hiccup meets Toothless, with the two becoming fast friends.

She plays the role of Astrid, Hiccup's love interest and the perfect Viking, at least at the start of the film. In March, Parker was featured at the BAFTA Awards, where she discussed the process of shooting the film. "I've got a few days left, and then I'm free from the dragon training," she said.
