TOHO Animation has unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming My Hero Academia: Vigilantes anime.Based on the spinoff manga by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court, the series takes place five years before Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia. The story centers on Koichi Haimawari, a young man who utilizes his Quirk to assist others despite not being a licensed Hero. After he and street performer Kazuho Haneyama are attacked by a group of thugs, they are rescued by the powerful vigilante Knuckleduster, who recruits them to become vigilantes.The new anime is produced by Bones, the very same studio that has animated all 7 seasons of My Hero Academia and is directed by industry veteran Kenichi Suzuki, who helmed multiple seasons of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Cells at Work!. The trailer also reveals the anime's theme song, "Kekka Orai," performed by Kocchi no Kento, who gained fame for his viral hit "Hai Yorokonde" last year.Check out the anime’s official trailer above.
