WATCH: ‘Sir, Honourable Prime Minister, can you please build more ramps?’

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A St James Preparatory School student is calling on the prime minister to build more ramps to improve accessibility for people like her.Ramona-Shae Thorpe, made the call after a school trip to Gordon House on Friday.The 12-year-old, who has been using a walker for three years now, shared that she had challenges going up the stairs to view the inside of the Parliament building.“It’s challenging because I have to go up so many stairs,” Thorpe told Observer Online, adding that they should "build a ramp so it will be easier for persons like me to gain access".Thorpe had high hopes of seeing Prime Minister Andrew Holness during her visit who she looks up to.“He is an idol to me. I want to discuss my challenges with him,” she said, adding that her message to the prime minister would be, “Sir, Honourable Prime Minister, can you please build more ramps so persons like me can have less challenges going through our everyday lives?"(Video: Llewellyn Wynter)
