During the clash between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Guwahati on Sunday, the former team’s skipper Riyan Parag took an incredible-one handed catch to dismiss Shivam Dube for 18 runs. The first innings saw RR post a fighting total of 182/9 in 20 overs following a fiery knock of 81 runs from Nitish Rana. With CSK having not chased down a target of over 190 in IPL since the 2019 season, everyone knew that it will be a tough chase.
RR’s brilliant fielding only made the matters worse for CSK, who ended up succumbing to the total and finished their 20 overs on 176/6. One of the defining moments for the Rajasthan-based franchise in the field came in the tenth over when Parag took an exceptional catch to dismiss Dube. With this, spinner Wanindu Hasaranga got his second wicket of the day and later, went on to finish with figures of 4/35.
The video of Parag’s catch quickly went viral on social media as fans couldn’t help but praise the Rajasthan-based franchise’s skipper for his incredible athleticism.Captain Riyan Parag replies with a fantastic catch 🤯#CSK lose Shivam Dube in the chaseUpdates ▶️ https://t.co/V2QijpWpGO#TATAIPL | #RRvCSK | @rajasthanroyals pic.
