The current conditions in the capital feature clear skies, but with a biting 23°F temperature that makes bundling up more than just a fashion statement. With humidity hovering at 78% and the wind calm, one might be fooled into thinking it's pleasant out—until stepping outside, that is, according to the National Weather Service . The NWS detailed forecast anticipates a sunlit day, with temperatures peaking at a modest 38°F and a southwest wind picking up pace in the afternoon to 5 to 8 mph.
Tonight, however, folks should watch for increasing clouds and a gentle southwest wind, keeping the thermometer around 30°F. As we roll into the weekend, D.C.
can expect cloudy skies early tomorrow before the sun breaks through once more, with highs around 45°F and a shift from a southwest to westerly wind. Looking forward to the start of the work week, Monday is predicted to offer unclouded skies and similarly agreeable highs near 45°F, thanks to a gentle westerly breeze. Temperatures at night will hover at a slightly higher 32°F.
The upward trend continues with Tuesday being mostly sunny and a high of around 49°F, succeeded by a partly cloudy night with temperatures dipping only a bit, to 31°F. Wednesday invites more sun with an optimistic high soaring to near 54°F, though the evening calls for partly cloudy skies and once again, a steady 30°F is expected to greet the capital after sunset, then as the week progresses, Thursday shows a slight temperature decline presenting a mostly sunny day with a peak of 37°F and a night that nudges the mercury down to a cooler 21°F.
