WARROAD – The Bemidji High School girls hockey team fell behind the eight ball on Thursday night against Warroad. The Lumberjacks surrendered the first four goals in a 5-1 defeat at the Warroad Gardens. The win completed a two-game season sweep for the Warriors over BHS.
Olivia Anthony, Kaiya Sandy, Emmie Hardwick and Taylor Reese scored the first four goals for Warroad. Bailey Rupp answered with a power-play goal for the Jacks in the third period, with an assist from Millie Knott. Raegan Haley added another for the Warriors late in regulation.
Ava Myhre stopped 37 shots on goal for Bemidji (9-6-1), while Payton Rolli made 18 saves for Warroad (11-3-0). BHS 0 0 1 – 1 WAR 1 3 1 – 5 First period – WAR GOAL: Anthony (French, Marcowka) 12:10.
