INDIANAPOLIS — Some sun, some clouds and some rain and highs in the 50s. This sums up our weather pattern this week. The sun, clouds and rain chances will continue into Friday and the weekend, but high temperatures will warm into the 70s.

There will be some showers Thursday evening with a few areas heavier rain and rumbles of thunder possible overnight and early Friday. By Friday afternoon, the rain lifts north and the warmer air takes over. We have the middle 70s in the forecast for Friday afternoon.

It will be warm and windy. Forecast highs stay in the lower 70s this weekend with additional rain chances. Saturday won't be a washout but there will be scattered showers and storms.

Check radar before and during outdoor activities. Some of the steadier rain will fall Saturday night into early Sunday. A round of strong to severe storms is possible later Sunday.

We have upgraded Sunday to a Weather Impact Alert day. Be sure to check back for updates on timing and the severe threats. Cooler temperatures are back early next week.
