The Lehigh Valley will see higher temperatures and more rain this week, but a cooldown is expected to follow through mid-April.

The Lehigh Valley will see higher temperatures and more rain this week. The local National Weather Service office in Mount Holly, New Jersey, said rain is possible in the region every day through Sunday. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday, and then showers again through the weekend.

Additionally, temperatures are expected to warm up after lows in the 50s Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs in the 60s and 70s are expected through the weekend after that. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, in its 14-day outlook, said eastern Pennsylvania will likely have below normal temperatures through April 15.



The weather service is predicting a high of 58 Monday and 47 Tuesday. This follows a storm that brought the highest single-day rainfall of the year to the Lehigh Valley. Lehigh Valley International Airport recorded 1.

79 inches of rain Monday, the highest rainfall of the year to date, according to weather service data. Easton, Center Valley and Bethlehem all had more than 2 inches of recorded rainfall , the weather service said. NOAA said rainfall over the next to weeks should be about normal.
