Expect flawless weather for the Labor Day weekend. Skies will be clear. Temperatures will be mild.

And the ocean has turned noticeably warmer after being unseasonably cool for much of the summer. The one blemish: The surf will be small, which also has been a summer-long disappointment along the San Diego County coastline. The National Weather Service says the daytime high in San Diego will be 75 on Friday, 76 on Saturday, 77 on Sunday and 78 on Monday.



Make sure to take sun block if you plan to attend the Padres home game with Detroit on Monday, Labor Day. The game begins at 3:40 p.m.

You also should take sunblock on Saturday if you’re planning to attend San Diego State University’s home game with Texas A & M-Commerce, and the University of San Diego’s home game with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Both games begin at 5 p.m.

Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer. The autumnal equinox will occur at 5:43 a.m.
