At the Blackpool AC open meeting, Annabelle Hinze mastered Sunday’s atrocious weather conditions to record a PB meeting in the shot event. The under-13 produced a best putt of 6.65m to win the competition by five centimetres.
She also placed seventh in the long jump with 3.49. U11 Mylah Collier had a busy afternoon - she won the 600m in 1:59.

U15 Agatha Wragg took fourth in the 200m in 30.3 and fifth in the 300m with 48.8.
A number of Bury athletes tested themselves on the undulating parkrun course at Heaton Park with several being rewarded with new best times for the course. Martin Clark continued to demonstrate his fine form with a victory in a new best of 15:33, while. Matthew Lowe took second place, with a new best of 15:59, his first time under 16 minutes on the course.
Rob Fowler placed fourth, with 17:06, and Conor Wilkinson was sixth, in 17:32. Curtis Simpson took 22nd place with 19:46 with popular local musician Katie Geelan placing second woman in 19:50. Paul Marshall was absolutely spot on with his pace-making duties, crossing the line in exactly 20 minutes, while Sarah Thomas was third woman with 20:57, and young Lucy Dent was fourth woman in 21:05.
Danny Potts made the top 50, recording 21:16 in 50th place and Sarah Flett (23:20) was ninth woman. There was a medal-winning performance from Bury’s U15 girls team in the North West Counties Road Relays last week. The trio took an excellent bronze behind Sale and East Cheshire as part of the Greater Manchester championships.
