Want the Eagles to immediately acquire an impact edge rusher? Good luck with that

The Eagles have had issues getting consistent pressure from their edge rushers but when looking at getting help, there are not many options right now.

When the Eagles traded linebacker Haason Reddick to the Jets this offseason after the two sides could not agree on a contract extension, the team believed it had a stable group of pass rushers who would pressure quarterbacks and force more sacks and turnovers than they did in 2023. By signing defensive end Bryce Huff to a three-year deal worth $51.1 million, he was expected to become the new leader of the edge rushers in terms of statistics, alongside Pro Bowl defensive end Josh Sweat , former first-round pick Nolan Smith, and veteran Brandon Graham.

However, that has not come to fruition in the first two weeks of the season. The Eagles’ edge rushers have combined for zero sacks, and the lack of pressure applied to Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins in Monday night’s 22-21 loss raises questions about what the Eagles can do right now to fix things. The answer: not much.
