CHEYENNE (WTE) – Laramie County voters once again approved renewal of the county's conservation district tax. This is an existing tax that funds the Laramie County Conservation District. Currently, a portion of all property tax in Laramie County, one half-mill, goes toward supporting the soil and water conservation programs directed by the LCCD.

For a home valued at $100,000 in the city of Cheyenne, $4.75 of the annual property tax go to the conservation district’s budget. The tax will remain at one half-mill for four years and be on the ballot again in the 2028 general election.

LCCD Manager Shaun Kirkwood said the tax has been in place since 1946 and has always been approved by voters. Unofficial results from Tuesday's general election:.
