Thousands of Vodafone broadband users across the UK were left without access to the internet after a large outage. The outage started at approximately 07:45 GMT, with over 700 complaints, according to Downdetector. 84 percent of users who reported issues had landline internet interruptions, 8 percent had no signal, and 8 percent had a complete loss of service.

Angry customers swarmed X, formerly Twitter, to complain. One user was complaining about broadband speeds falling as low as 1MB and was condemning the lack of communication from Vodafone, saying: "Unable to contact customer services as you are all 'busy at the moment.' A service message would be appreciated in such circumstances.

" Another raged, saying they had reset their router several times to no avail and were asking when the problem would be sorted out. A third customer pointed out the effect on their smart home installation, stating that their heating had broken down, leaving their home cold, and their streaming service was not usable. A Vodafone spokesperson acknowledged the disruption to MailOnline, blaming CityFibre for the issue.

"We're experiencing a problem with CityFibre which is affecting some of our customers. We're sorry for any disruption and thank you for holding on while the problem is fixed," the spokesperson stated. The outage has reportedly impacted customers across different regions such as Derby, Lambeth, Birmingham, Islington, Leicester, Manchester, East Riding of Yorkshire, London, Luton, and Peterborough.

Numerous customers are still inquiring about updates, anticipating a quick fix..
