In a raw and heartfelt conversation with ABP, actor Vivek Oberoi recently reflected on one of the most difficult periods of his life—a time when his once-thriving career was derailed by forces beyond his control. Known for his roles in hits like Company and Saathiya, Vivek revealed the intense struggles he faced, as "powerful people" in the Bollywood industry conspired against him, leaving him professionally isolated and personally shaken. Despite his box office successes, Vivek’s career hit a shocking roadblock.

He recalled how, at his lowest point, he had no projects lined up, even as he became a target of public scorn. “When you go through tough times, you feel the intensity of the pain, especially when it drags on. If it’s brief, you heal quickly.

But when the bad times stretch on and on, the wound keeps reopening,” Vivek said, giving a glimpse into the emotional toll it took on him. A post shared by Vivek Oberoi (@vivekoberoi) What started as professional rivalry soon escalated into something much more dangerous. Vivek shared how projects were taken from him, social media trolls targeted him relentlessly, and he even received threats from the underworld.

“It wasn’t just trolling and public humiliation; I was professionally sabotaged. Projects that I had signed were taken away, and I had to deal with underworld threats. The situation became so serious that the police provided me with an armed guard for protection.

” The impact of these dark days extended beyond his own life, spilling over to his family. His constant worry for the safety of his loved ones overshadowed everything. “I had protection, but what about my mother, sister, and father? My peace of mind was gone.

I couldn’t stop worrying about them,” Vivek shared, highlighting how personal the ordeal became. However, rather than letting this spiral of negativity consume him, Vivek eventually found a way to reclaim control. He spoke about how he had to make a conscious decision to stop letting the outside world dictate his peace and happiness.

“At some point, you just have to say, ‘Enough is enough.’ You clear the slate and focus on what’s ahead. It’s the only way to survive.
