MET Eireann have confirmed that more good weather is on the way for the next week as high pressure builds.High pressure has hit Ireland this weekend, bringing 19C temperatures and nothing but sunny spells.High temperatures will continue next weekFreezing conditions are hitting overnightAnd the glorious conditions are only going to continue into next week as this builds offshore.

A high pressure system between Iceland and Norway is to thank for this, and it’s making the move over Ireland in the coming days.Met Eireann’s Deirdre Lowe said: “A blocking area of high pressure between Iceland and Norway is keeping Ireland’s weather mainly dry and settled with plenty of sunshine by day. “This high pressure will persist for much of the coming week and it will eventually move down right over Ireland, bringing calm conditions and the warmer temperatures will then reach eastern parts too.

”TODAY’S WEATHERToday, however, will start out cold with some mist patches in some areas. But fear not as this will quickly clear bringing “virtually unbroken sunshine”.Some clouds will appear later to break up the blue skies, but highest temperatures will remain at 19C.

Deirdre said: “For today it’s quite a chilly start. A few early morning mist patches will clear to leave a dry and sunny day, virtually unbroken sunshine in most areas, although some cloud may encroach onto south-western coastal parts at times. “Highest temperatures of 12C to 18C or 19C, coolest near the east and south coast and warmest in the west, with moderate east to south-east breezes easing later.

”Tonight will again see dry conditions and clear skies, but temperatures will see a more extreme drop, hitting freezing. She said: “Tonight will be dry with mostly clear skies.“This will allow it to become very chilly with lowest temperatures of 0C to 5C.

“A few mist and fog patches will develop in light variable breezes, with some frost in parts too.”Kicking off a new week, there will be further dry weather with “plenty of sunshine once again.”TOMORROW’S OUTLOOKTomorrow will see temperatures range higher than today, with these sticking between 14C and 19C.

She said: “So tomorrow will be dry with plenty of sunshine once again. “After a cold start it will become a little warmer generally than today with highest temperatures of 14C to 19C with mostly light south-easter variable breezes.”REST OF THE WEEKLike clockwork, Tuesday and Wednesday will see little change in conditions, other than a slight drop to 18C temperatures.

Deirdre said: “There’s little change really for Tuesday and Wednesday, remaining dry with virtually unbroken sunshine. “Highs of 14C to 18C with light variable or easterly breezes. “Still chilly enough during the nights with some garden frost and a few mist and fog patches.

“The latter part of the week ahead will remain dry and it will become warmer with temperatures by Friday widely in the high teens, though nights will remain cold.”Sunny spells are here to stayReuters.
