New Delhi: Team India star Virat Kohli posted a cryptic tweet on X ahead of the start of the upcoming 2-match Test series between India and Bangladesh. Kohli is all set to make his Test comeback for India in the series after missing the home series against England earlier this year due to the birth of his son Akay.

The 1st Test will get underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday, September 19. Kohli is currently training with the rest of the Indian squad in the national camp in Chennai as the hosts prepare for the two-match series. The series is a crucial one for India in their bid to reach a third successive World Test Championship (WTC) final.

Ahead of the start of the much-awaited series, Kohli took to X on Monday to share a one-word tweet. “Kindness,” the senior India batter wrote, leaving the fans guessing. While the context of the tweet remains unknown, it left many surprised as Kohli rarely shares such posts.

Kindness. — Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) September 18, 2024 Virat Kohli sweats it out in the nets ahead of 1st Test Kohli has been sweating it out in the nets with the rest of the India squad in Chennai to gear up for the series against Bangladesh. The senior batter, who last played a Test match for India against South Africa in Cape Town in January earlier this year, will be making his comeback to the longest format after a significant period.

The senior batter faced ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah for a long period in the nets during India’s training on Monday and was also seen helping out young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal with some guidance after the left-hander struggled in dealing with Bumrah’s pace and swing. Kohli was seen having a chat with Jaiswal to iron out his shortcomings against pace. Having not featured in the whites for India in a long time, Kohli will be hoping to find his rhythm quickly in the series opener against Bangladesh in Chennai.

His form will be crucial for India in the series as Bangladesh will head into the two-match rubber as a confident unit having clean swept Pakistan 2-0 to record a historic Test series victory against Shan Masood’s men last month. His form will also be key for India ahead of a long Test season consisting of a total of 10 matches, including the five-match Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia later this year.
