An AI enthusiast used some of the latest tools to bring to life some of the most popular AI mascots of Indian brands. The individual did not share the name of the tools used in image-to-video prompts. The person produced AI versions of the Amul Girl, the Maharaja of Air India, Bholu from Indian Railways, Gattu from Asian Paints, the Nirma Girl, Fido Dido from 7UP, and Chester Cheetah from Cheetos.
The Amul Girl is seen gorging on a pyramid of cheese, while the Parle G girl is seen squatting over a heap of the company’s biscuits. Air India’s Maharaja is all smiles as he greets on screen with a plastic smile. The Nirma Girl sways in her trademark polka dot frock as an audience primarily consisting of white folks cheers on.
We can go on and on over the eerie appearance of the mascots, not to mention the soulless eyes that would fit right into the sockets of freaky monsters from the Courage the Cowardly Dog universe. Animation without an effort while plagiarizing copyrighted works is what makes you popular and labelled an artist these days. Sure, there goes some effort and probably subscription paisa.
But should AI prompters be called AI artists? Reactions poured in on the viral post with the internet going gaga over the AI reimagination. One user praised the efforts but stated that “ it bothers me personally (as) some of these logos, like Nirma, the actual daughter of the founder.” The user added, “ Using pictures with such personal stories could be a violation of privacy and ethically concerning.
” Another user asked about intellectual property rights infringement. Yet another quipped, “ Generative AI is an expert in creating illustrations but is a nightmare for designers. ” See Also: One Piece Director Demands Lawsuit Over OpenAI For Plagiarism: ‘Can’t Stand Studio Ghibli Treated So Cheaply’ See Also: Studio Gibberish!
