Virac, Zamboanga City expected to hit danger level heat index on March 16, 2025

Virac in Catanduanes and Zamboanga City may experience a heat index in the danger level on Sunday, March 16, according to PAGASA's forecast released Saturday afternoon. These two places may reach a heat index of 42°C. On Saturday, Virac registered a heat index of 43°C.

Other areas of the Philippines did not hit the danger level. PAGASA categorizes areas with 42°C to 51°C heat index under the danger category, while areas with 52°C and above fall under extreme danger. Heat cramps, fatigue, and heat stroke due to continued exposure are likely hazards under the danger level, while heat stroke is possible in locations under extreme danger.
