VILLAGERS living along the Busurata Road in the highland region of the Central Kwara’ae Constituency in Malaita Province, have expressed support for the ongoing emergency maintenance of the road. The much-needed repairs follow years of neglect, which left the road impassable, severely affecting the daily lives of residents and hindering the movement of goods and services. The road serves as a vital lifeline as it allows farmers, traders and families to access markets and sustain their livelihood.

A farmer June Albert expressed his appreciation for the road repairs efforts by the Member of Parliament for Central Kwara’ae, Ricky Fuo’o. “I am thrilled to see Hon Fuo’o fulfilling his campaign promises by addressing this critical need of our community. His dedication proves that he is the right leader for Central Kwara’ae,” Mrs Albert said In a recent statement, MP Fuo’o emphasised the importance of infrastructure for community development.

“Infrastructure is the backbone of any community,” he said. “By fixing this road, we are not just improving transportation; we are creating opportunities for our people to thrive. This is just the beginning, and we have many more projects planned,” MP Fuo’o added.

MP Fuo’o also urged landowners along the Busurata Road to support the project by granting access to gravel needed for the maintenance work. “Your cooperation is essential for the smooth execution and successful completion of this project.” The funding for these emergency repairs has been made possible through the Ministry of Rural Development (MRD), which allocated resources from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

MP Fuo’o expressed his gratitude to MRD. “I appreciate their assistance, which has enabled my office to address this critical infrastructure issue.”.
