Villagers pledge to conserve water

Prayagraj: Under the Swachhata Pakhwada , the Zila Ganga Samiti and Social Forestry organised an event at a school in Khedua Majra Barawa gram panchayat here on Sunday. On the occasion, district authorities, along with villagers, pledged to conserve water and educate others. The theme of this year's World Water Day, observed on March 22, was to preserve glaciers.

Speakers said that the melting of glaciers is accelerating, disrupting the water cycle and threatening the security of water related to the existence of life for billions of people. Highlighting the importance of water, Water Man Ranvijay Nishad said that we should take a step forward for water and environment conservation . Meanwhile, speakers said that special emphasis should be given to the construction of soak pits, closing open taps and using lamps in bathrooms.



While explaining the importance of lakes, speakers stressed creating more ponds and said that trees, plants, rivers, ponds, humans, animals and birds are all dependent on each other. Their conservation is necessary. tnn.
