Members of the community enjoyed a successful village sale at the weekend. A Bric a Brac stall raised more than £1,061 for St Paul's Church at Ashford Hill on Saturday afternoon (October 5). "It was marvellous in all aspects,” said Terry Richardson, a member of the parochial church council.
“It was wonderful; we had the most fantastic donations of good quality Bric a Brac and clothing and all sorts. "I think everyone that came had a really good time. “They kept filling up their bags and asking if they could go to the car and come back.
"It is a tremendous amount of work and organisation to make it a success. “But it is the public that make it a success and we are so grateful for all those people that came.” Items classing as Bric a Brac including various small decorative antiques and trinkets.
The event is held once a year. Entry cost 20p..
